Design Guidance

For clothes, costumes and pieces that hold potential. Whether they need to be made, remade, styled, sourced or developed further, I help you find the smartest way forward through creative support, design direction or deeper project guidance.

Start with a garment, a look, or a stage idea.

I take on a limited number of guidance projects at a time. After you send the questionnaire, I’ll look at the garment, the timing and the kind of support you need, then suggest the best next step.

Some projects need one good conversation. Others need a clearer direction. Some need a little more time.

These three options offer different levels of support, depending on what you need.

A Fresh Eye

For when you already have a garment, idea or sewing project, but feel stuck.

One focused online conversation around one garment or project. We look at what is possible, what to avoid, and which direction feels strongest.

You receive a short summary with clear next steps.

Best for: advice before cutting, altering, shopping or general consultation.

A Clear Direction

For when a garment, look or stage idea needs a stronger visual route.

You send photos, context and references. I create a small moodboard, 2 design or redesign directions, and notes on shape, material, technique and finishing.

Useful for remaking, tailor communication, shopping choices or building a clearer stage/dance look.

Best for: design direction, styling clarity or a tailor-ready visual idea.

Guided Design Support

For when a garment, look or stage idea needs more than one conversation.

We build a plan around the piece, your body, the context, timing and budget. Support can include sourcing, tailor notes, pattern thinking, construction options or moving toward a custom-made piece.

Full pattern making, sewing or costume construction is quoted separately.

Best for: deeper transformations, performer looks or projects from idea to execution.

Depending on what the project needs

Some projects begin with something you already own. Others need shopping, sourcing, tailoring, pattern thinking or a custom-made element.

After the first direction is clear, we can add extra support such as shopping together, sourcing fabrics or trims, preparing notes for a tailor, sending a small material package by post, looking at pattern or construction options, or adding an extra follow-up talk.

We decide this step by step, so the process stays clear, realistic and useful.
